Iran air and Airbus seal historic agreement
New aircrafts for Iran Air by Airbus expects coming month. According to sources the historic agreement in October 2015 has been sealed by the total order of 100 aircrafts.
Deliveries will begin early 2017 and the order signed by Farhad Parvaresh Chairman and CEO of Iran Air.
“I am delighted that we have reached an agreement to go to the next decisive phase and start taking delivery of new aircraft. I am gratified that this new round of cooperation with Airbus has come to fruition and brought us closer with more practical steps to follow for Iran Air’s fleet renewal. Iran Air considers this agreement an important step towards a stronger international presence in civil aviation said Farhad Parvaresh.
The agreement covers of 48 A320 aircraft type short-haul distance 38 A330 Family and 16 A350XWD long haul distance. The way towards licensed was not easy as the agreement had been reviewed by American authorities and particularly from US government Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) as part of the products has manufactured and contain US Technology contents around 10 per cent. However the European plane maker managed to take the relevant licenses in September and November 2016.
